The origin of a cup of coffee all starts with its bean. Many people do not know that a coffee bean is the pit of the coffee cherry and grows on trees. It typically takes about 3-4 years for the newly planted trees to produce cherries ready to harvest. 

To make a bean into its final product and ready to grind, the coffee cherries need to be picked from a tree and then have to be dried. After that, it gets shipped from its origin and roasted to perfection. So, it's a long journey for the beans to get to your cup.
